Burnaby has produced many fine athletes, builders, coaches, and teams from the outset of its founding in 1892. The Sports Hall of Fame was incorporated under the Society Act this year, 2001, to recognize Burnaby's proud heritage in sports.

This year, the BSHoF first began awarding highschool scholarships to two graduating Burnaby Students. The female student is Kiran Basra (Burnaby Central), and male student is Luca Fogale (Burnaby North). Both students received the scholarship to further their post-secondard education.
