Sports Hall of Fame Nominator
Included is the criteria and Nomination Form for the
inaugural Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame inductions.
Please fill out the nomination forms as completely as
possible, with supporting documents; i.e., newspaper
clippings, certificates of achievement, etc.
Please send back your nomination form by
the Oct. 15.2010,
deadline. All nomination forms should be returned to the
Burnaby Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Office,
Suite 101, 4946 Canada Way, Burnaby, B.C., V5G 4H7. All
nomination forms and accompanying documents will remain the
property of the Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame committee. We
request no nomination forms be returned via fax machine. If
you have documents that need returning, you must supply a
SASE (self addressed stamped envelope).
Voting on all nominations received will take place in
July and August, with the successful inductees will be
notified shortly thereafter. The names of the inductees will
also be published in the media.
The induction ceremony will take place on
February 17, 2011, at
the Firefighters' Banquet Hall, 6515 Bonsor Avenue,
Burnaby.

CRITERIA
to be nominated into the
Burnaby Sports Hall of
Fame
Athlete Criteria:
Must have participated successfully in amateur or
professional sport, having performed in such a way as an
individual or member of a team, bringing special honour to
Burnaby.
Said athlete has been a resident of Burnaby or also
represented a Burnaby team, school or organization.
Coach Criteria:
Has participated successfully as a coach in amateur or
professional sport at a provincial, national or
international level, having performed in such a way,
bringing special honour to Burnaby.
Said coach must have been a resident of Burnaby at time of
achievement(s) or represented a Burnaby team.
Builder Criteria:
Must have attained a high level of excellence and
brought recognition or honour to Burnaby sport through
on-going dedication to building of athletes, teams or sport
itself.
Said builder must have been a resident of Burnaby at time of
achievement(s) or represented a Burnaby sporting body.
A builder can be defined as an administrator, referee,
official, trainer, or volunteer.
Team Criteria:
Must have attained a high level of excellence and brought
honour to Burnaby sport at a national or international level
in relation to junior, senior or university/college
level.
Teams representing Burnaby or university/colleges will only
be considered. Teams are selected for achievement in one
year only.
